Q: I want to buy a surfboard to start surfing. Can you recommend a suitable board to me?
A:
Basically a longer board will be more suitable for the novice to learn on. The best way is to have a lesson from a trained and qualified surfing instructor and then ask their recommendation, as they are best positioned to evaluate your abilities and capabilities. Q: Do your boards come with fins and leg rope?
A:
Our boards come with a set of fins only, leg ropes are extra. However, keep an eye on our specials page as we often sell boards with a leg rope and padded board bag as a package. Please click here to view our leg ropes in our accessories.

Q: Are transport courier costs extra "on top" of the surfboard price I pay here on line?
A:
Most of our prices include free packing, handling, shipping with full insurance throughout Queensland and Northern NSW!

We provide a flat fee surcharge on surfboards and locations not covered by our free shipping/insurance promise Australia wide and absorb up to 85% of the shipping cost for our customers.

If you live outside of a FREE delivery zone, please contact us and we will endeavor to source the best way of getting your board to you in the quickest, safest and most convenient way for you.

If you are unsure if a surcharge applies to the delivery of a surfboard to your area do not hesitate to email us before you order and pay for your surfboard on line. We will email you back with the correct payment details based on your board choice and delivery address.

Q: How do I pay for my outheback surfboard?
A:
Just follow the buy now link in our secure store. You can pay by:

Direct Deposit into our Bank Of Queensland account and details will be displayed for you at the end of the check out process. Deposits can be made through your own Internet banking at home or in person at any BOQ branch.

PAY-PAL instant payment service provided here in our checkout where your own bank funds All you need to do is either have an existing or establish a new PAY-PAL account. To learn more about PAY-PAL or to become a new PAY-PAL member, click here.

Major Credit Card (Visa, Master card) can be used to pay. It is free to use and secure.

If all this is just too much trouble, contact us direct via email, just go to the "contact us page". Tell us what board you want. We will work a price out for you. Then, we will arrange for you to send us a cheque outside of the on line payment process here to our office. Once the cheque is cleared we will ship the board to you. Easy!

We can also ship the board directly you to your closest outheback supplier and you can pay the store directly. Simply click on our supplier map for more details.

Q: How will I receive my surfboard?
A:
All our surfboards on final quality inspection are carefully wrapped in cardboard and bubble wrap, with nose, tail and rail reinforcement to protect edges and then placed in a 5 ply cardboard carton for extra protection. This guarantees you will receive your board in perfect condition.

Q: How will my outheback board be shipped to me?
A:
We have a good working relationship with TNT couriers and Surf Freight transport. We ship all our boards with these companies due to their reliable service and great insurance coverage.

Unless you live in extremely remote areas you will receive delivery by courier. If you are not home the transport company will either reschedule your delivery or have you pick it up from their nearest depot.

Q: Which courier company do you use? When can I expect my order to be shipped and delivered?
A:
We use TNT as our courier company. Normally, we arrange the shipments on every Mon, Wed and Fri,the tracking No. will be emailed to you when your item being shipped out and you can track it at: http://www.tntcouriers.com.au  and find the ETA being on the tracking page.

Q: Do you combine shipping for two boards/board and cover?
A:
As our courier company charges us based on weight, we will do our best to make transport as easy, convenient and cost effective as possible for you.

Q: What should I do when I find the board is damaged during transit?
A:
Talk to us and we will try to determine where the damage occurred. If it occurred in transit - it is simple. We will replace it for you at no cost and claim the damage back from our couriers.

Q: What are the procedures of ordering a custom board?
A:
  To order a custom board, first of all, you need to advise us the size of the board youre after, then, well send you a few suited designs as well as an order sheet in which you can fill in the dimensions you want.

Q: Can I come over and check out some of your boards?
A:
  I am afraid you cannot, because all of our boards are well packed already for delivery so theyre NOT available for sale at sight. Wed suggest you to either

1.Choose the board style online, as the pictures were taken individually for each surfboard, the board youll receive will be exactly the same as the pictures shows.

2. Visit your nearest outheback supplier – click here to finds the store closest to you

Q: Can I talk to someone about a surfboard and then order it over the phone?
A: We supply a large number of retailers throughout the east coast of Australia. These retailers are the best people to talk to as they have our stock on hand and can help you to choose the best outheback board for your needs. However please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to work with you to find the best board for you

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: We don't usually ship our products internationally due to the high shipping cost, but we are more than happy to cooperate if you can arrange your own international courier, or we are happy to organise shipping via our shipping agents.

Q: I received the board today but I can't find the fins. Can you please send them to me ASAP?
A: Please check the board completely, the fins are bubble wrapped and taped on the tail of the board.

Q: Can I pick my surfboard up from the warehouse?
A:
No. We have no liability insurance for the public at our warehouse which only has access through a private road and no public safety provision on site for customers.

Q: Do you make custom boards and can I have a full custom board made?
A:
We make full custom surfboards and other boards for serious, pro and semi pro surfers and for clubs.

Because of our manufacture process we are able to fully customize any board, especially in the case of club colours or branding.

Please talk to us about what you need and we can advise as to a cost and time before completion and delivery

Q: Do I have any buyer protection if my surfboard falls apart the first time I take it to the beach?
A:
Due to the nature of surfing we offer a warranty on manufacturing and workmanship on all our surfboards. We provide a full replacement warranty of 30 days on outheback surfboards.

Simply return the board to the retailer from whom the purchase was made or contact us for return details. We will then ship the new board out according to our shipping price guidelines, either free or at the flat rate remote area surcharge.

We do not warrant against misuse, neglect or the natural and normal damage that occurs while in the process of surfing or water sports. We reserve the right to refuse replacement if it is deemed that the nature of the fault is not related to workmanship or manufacturing but has been damaged through misuse, neglect or general surfing wear and tear.
